About the SME Toolkit Road Show

SME.com.ph conceptualized SME Toolkit Road Show in 2007 and has continually opened doors for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country. Its aim is to fully bring more opportunities for the said sector through the emerging technologies that would enhance their businesses to be productive and profitable at the same time. The event was born out of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to enable SMEs, which is aligned with Planters Development Bank’s thrust is to empower the country’s SMEs, it partnered with International Finance Corporation’s SME Toolkit in 2002.

SME Toolkit is a collection of business tips; forms and tools on Accounting & Finance, Business Planning, Human Resources, Legal & Insurance, Marketing & Sales, Operations, Technology and more. Through SME.com.ph, the toolkit is made accessible to SMEs of today via its site and through SME Toolkit Road Show it created where it distributed the said helpful toolkit via CDs for FREE.

SME Toolkit Road Show’s first foray was in Dagupan City, August 2007 and gathered 40 local SME participants. From then on, it has continually produced 28 road shows that further the cause of the bank and its affiliate company—SME.com.ph to enable SMEs thrive in the highly competitive world of business and to be globally at par. Globe Telecom being a stanch supporter of advancing the SMEs plight joined forces with SME.com.ph.

A year later, another technology giant, IBM Philippines also tied-up with SME.com.ph and Globe Telecom to further bring the SME Toolkit Road Show, which commenced in April 2008.

This blog is created to bridge further any divide between the road show’s organizers and its participants, its future guests and allies.

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Steven A. Tambunting

Through her efforts as the Sales and Marketing Head, she was able to persuade Globe Telecom and IBM Philippines to join forces with SME.com.ph in bringing the successful SME Toolkit Road Show since 2007 until this day.
